It is a dream of mine to take this cousin walk. I did not grow up around herbs and my family has never been herbally inclined. By the time I was an autonomous herbal adult I was hosting Danksgivings with friends which is like a walk on steroids, but with one thing missing, family. I am extremely thankful that I am able to spend the holidays with my family and if the cousin walk doesn't happen for me I will remain forever thankful for these times. I am also hella thankful for all of the friends ive had the privilege of spending the holidays with. There is just something very special about the concept of sharing herbs with my family, even outside of the cousin walk tradition. It is so beautiful to see the normalization of familial herbal congregations. Herbs have been used to connect and commune for as long as we've known about them so I see this normalization as a return to the standard and traditions of many of our ancestors. If you go on a cousin walk this year I encourage you to savor every moment. It's a gift to be able to vibe with your family like that.
